After I learned some basic photography and composition rules, I went and took some photos following and incorporating some of these elements. Here are the photos that I managed to take:

Here’s an analysis of the composition elements and rules used in the image:

Rule of Thirds: The trees are positioned in a way that roughly aligns with the rule of thirds, creating balance without centering the subject.

Leading Lines: The tree branches and the fence subtly guide the viewer’s eye towards the figure in the middle.

Contrast: The dark figure contrasts sharply with the lighter background, drawing attention immediately.

Negative Space: The empty sky and sparse ground emphasize the figure and trees, creating an eerie, isolated feeling.

Mood: The nighttime setting, bare trees, and shadowy figure create a mysterious and unsettling atmosphere.

My second idea was using my dog for this photo.

It has high contrast: the flash creates a stark contrast between the dog and the dark background, highlighting the dog as the focal point.

Symmetry: the dog is centered, giving a symmetrical composition that adds to the strong, direct impact of the image.

Eyes as Focal Points: the glowing eyes due to flash reflection become striking focal points, adding an eerie vibe.

For this image, I've ordered some costumes and my friends tried them on for me.

Composition elements that I used:

Dynamic Angles: the unusual poses create dynamic lines and movement within the frame, making the composition energetic and chaotic.

Color Contrast: the black suits stand out starkly against the colorful, cluttered room and blue led lighting, adding visual interest.

Rule of Odds: there are multiple figures, both real and reflected, playing with the viewer’s sense of balance and focus.

This image has a strong horror and suspenseful atmosphere, and its composition uses several key elements and rules:

Leading Lines :the street and the row of houses on the left create a natural perspective that leads the eye toward the shadowy figure in the background.

Rule of Thirds : the dark silhouette in the distance is positioned roughly along the left vertical third of the frame, creating an unsettling balance.

Lighting and Contrast : the high contrast of the dark figure adds mystery and tension.

Negative Space : the surrounding darkness enhances the sense of isolation and fear.

Framing : the blurred figure in the foreground partially obstructs the right side, creating a sense of being watched or followed.

Lastly, I climbed on my garage to see how scary my costume looks, and this shot effectively builds suspense, making it a great reference for my horror-themed film opening.
