Planning, and Filming

After gathering inspiration from different movie openings, I planned out my own, focusing on atmosphere and tension. I wanted Stalker to have a raw, eerie feel, so I took advantage of real weather conditions and creative filming techniques.
For the shoot, I had my father and older brother help me. My father played the stalker, which worked perfectly because he naturally has a presence that fits the role, especially in the right lighting. We filmed on a particularly windy and unsettling night, which added to the atmosphere. The power was even cut off outside due to a thunderstorm, making everything feel even more intense. Instead of relying on artificial effects, I let the real environment shape the mood of the film.
One of my favorite moments was figuring out how to get overhead shots. I didn’t have access to a drone, so I got creative: I taped my phone to a stick and used it to capture high angle shots. It worked surprisingly well and gave the footage a unique perspective.

It was really weird because people were staring at us and I was also really scared because of the weather, but everything worked really good in the end.
Here is a video of the making-off of the movie, and you can see in the shadow the set-up I used to capture a high angle shot!
The other scenes went great, but while we were filming, a really weird bird was making really scary noises, which was really scary because I have never seen that kind of bird ever in my life, I will put a video of it below!
Overall, our choices successfully enhanced the film’s eerie atmosphere, creating a tense and immersive experience. Throughout the process, we experienced both fun and fear, making the creation of Stalker an unforgettable journey, because we never experienced this before!
